Magnum Opus, the grand celebration of Suncity school, sector 54, Gurugram, commemorated its 20th year by showcasing a sojourn of diligence, dedication and devotion to the cause of education at Suncity schools.The celebration commenced with a pristine chanting of stotras accompanied by an invocational dance followed by the blowing of the ceremonial conch shell to mark the initiation of the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and invoking the Lord’s blessings.The audience was thereafter captivated by the ‘Sonnet – Lumière’, a spectacular laser show depicting the journey of the 20 glorious years of Suncity School- celebrating its legacy of innovation, excellence and development of the multiple intelligences for holistic and robust development of each child.Following the lamp-lighting, the Director – Education of Suncity schools, Rupa Chakravarty, delivered her Prologue, reaffirming the school’s mission to nurture confident, expressive and compassionate learners.The evening unfolded with the showstopping performance titled ‘The Aeternote’, a captivating musical rendition. The pristine instrumental ensemble that followed the Prologue with twenty one different kinds of instruments left the audience mesmerised.A warm welcome was extended to the distinguished Heads of schools in attendance, who appreciated the dedication, finesse and artistry with which the students displayed their craft.

The highlight of the evening was the presence of the Chief Guest, Boman Irani, whose warmth and wisdom resonated deeply with the audience.In his uplifting message, he shared, “Every child has his own positives. Parents should support their children for who they are.”He further enthralled the gathering by singing the timeless classic ‘I Did It My Way,’ by Frank Sinatra receiving a thunderous round of standing applause.During the programme, Laxmi Narain Goel, Managing Trustee, praised the excellence of the event stating, “The programme appeared to be professional, certainly not just a school event.The level of craftsmanship was outstanding,” he stated.

The Chairman, Ankit Goel commended the tireless efforts of the students and teachers in presenting such a seamless show and encouraged students to continue embracing creativity and innovation.He appreciated the sincerity of the teachers, most of whom had been with the school since its inception.The dynamic Jamboree- A fight for right between the part and the whole – left the spectators mulling over the outcome of the act. The inspiring prize distribution ceremony honouring students’ achievement elicited thunderous applause from the audience.In her heartfelt vote of thanks, Junior Head Girl Vyana Mehta expressed gratitude to the guests, parents, faculty and performers.The programme concluded with The Finale- the jamboree of hip hop, contemporary aerial gymnastics where the spectacular performance stood out for its amazing idea, creativity and flawless synchronisation.
