Bokaro: Deputy commissioner Ajay Nath Jha on Thursday reviewed the ongoing Bokaro airport project and directed the concerned officials to complete the pending work within the stipulated timeline.Jha said, “The management of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has been instructed to finish pruning of bushes and other cleaning work on both sides of the 75-metre runway stretch within the next 15 days to ensure operational safety. All departments must work in coordination to remove obstacles and help start flight operations from Bokaro at the earliest.”Officials from the Airports Authority of India Ranchi, BSL, district administration and police attended the meeting and reviewed the progress of airport-related works. Notably, a delay in completing key clearance and maintenance work at the Bokaro airport expansion project has prompted the district administration to step up monitoring efforts.Notably, political outfits and locals have been questioning the delay in completion of the project.
