Valuation boost: India’s top firms add over Rs 2 lakh crore in market value; Airtel, Reliance lead while Bajaj Finance slips

Eight of India’s ten most valuable companies together added more than Rs 2.05 lakh crore in market capitalisation last week, with Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries leading the upswing. The positive movement came alongside a steady recovery in the broader market, where the BSE Sensex rose 1.62 per cent and the NSE Nifty gained 1.64 per cent over the week.Bharti Airtel recorded the strongest jump among the top companies, with its valuation climbing by Rs 55,652.54 crore to reach Rs 11,96,700.84 crore. Reliance Industries followed closely, adding Rs 54,941.84 crore and taking its market worth to Rs 20,55,379.61 crore.Tata Consultancy Services also saw a sharp rise, with its market value increasing by Rs 40,757.75 crore to Rs 11,23,416.17 crore. ICICI Bank added Rs 20,834.35 crore, taking its valuation to Rs 9,80,374.43 crore. State Bank of India gained Rs 10,522.9 crore, while Infosys added Rs 10,448.32 crore. Bajaj Finance lost Rs 30,147.94 crore in market value, while Life Insurance Corporation of India saw a decline of Rs 9,266.12 crore, according to PTI.The gains came during a week when benchmark indices stayed in positive territory. The Sensex and Nifty ended higher for the fourth straight session on Friday, supported by buying in FMCG, banking and telecom stocks. Analysts noted that investors were shifting attention to the upcoming RBI MPC and US Federal Reserve meetings, which kept sentiment cautious but broadly positive.Despite fluctuations through the week, Reliance Industries remained India’s most valued firm, followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, TCS, ICICI Bank, SBI, Bajaj Finance, Infosys, LIC and Hindustan Unilever.
