Dense fog, poor visibility delay many trains on Delhi-Patna route | Patna News
Dense fog crippled train services between Delhi and Patna on Sunday, causing significant delays for several premier trains. Passengers faced hardship as visibility plummeted on key routes, forcing reduced speeds for safety. Major trains like the Tejas Rajdhani and Sampoorna Kranti experienced delays of up to 1.5 hours, with others running even later.

Patna: Dense fog and poor visibility on the mainline route between Delhi and Patna caused disruption to rail services on Sunday, leading to delays in several premier trains and causing immense hardship to passengers.According to railway officials, reduced visibility on the Tundla-Kanpur-Prayagraj-DDU (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction) route severely affected operations, forcing trains to run at restricted speed for safety reasons. Among major trains delayed was the New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani Express (12310) which reached Patna around 55 minutes behind schedule on Sunday. The Sampoorna Kranti Express (12394) was delayed by 1.51 hour while the Shramjeevi Express (12392) arrived at least 1.36 hour behind the schedule at the Patna Junction, sources said, adding New Delhi-Islampur Magadh Express (20802) was delayed by 1.30 hour.Similarly, New Delhi-Howrah Poorva Express (12304) continued to be affected by foggy weather for the second consecutive day on Sunday at least by an hour while the Amritsar-Howrah Punjab Mail (13006) ran approximately two hours behind the schedule, Danapur sources said, adding Anand Vihar -Danapur Jansadharan Express (13258), Prayagraj-Howrah Vibhuti Express (12334), Dehradun- Howrah Kumbh Express (12369), Kota-Patna Express (13238) and Udhana (Surat)-Patna Express (20933) were other passenger trains which were delayed by two to three hours due to poor visibility, railway sources said.According to Danapur control room, fog-related disruptions are common during this time of the year and advised passengers to check train running status before starting their journey. However, safety remains top priority during adverse weather conditions even if it leads to delays, a Danapur railway official said.
