Patna: All Patna-bound trains arriving from Delhi were severely delayed on Thursday following a second spell of bad weather that disrupted traffic along the Delhi-Patna rail route, causing inconvenience to passengers. Many travellers were forced to wait for hours in cold conditions with several complaining about the lack of timely information and basic amenities.The New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Tejas Rajdhani Express (12310) was the worst affected, arriving in Patna nearly five hours behind schedule. The New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Sampoorna Kranti Express (12394) followed, reaching its destination three-and-a-half hours late.Other affected services included the New Delhi-Rajgir Shramjeevi Express (12392), delayed by three hours, and the New Delhi-Islampur Magadh Express (20802), which arrived two hours and 15 minutes late. The Anand Vihar-Danapur Jansadharan Express (13258) reached Patna three hours and 45 minutes behind schedule while the Anand Vihar-Bhagalpur Vikramshila Express (12368) was delayed by three hours and 42 minutes. The New Delhi-Howrah Poorva Express (12304) also faced a delay of four hours.A senior railway official of North Central Railway, headquartered at Prayagraj, attributed the delays to adverse weather, including poor visibility and operational constraints affecting the busy Delhi-Kanpur-Patna mainline.Railway officials said efforts were being made to normalise train operations as weather conditions improved, but passengers continued to face prolonged hardships during the disruptions.
