Sivakarthikeyan gears up for ‘Seyon’ with director Sivakumar Murugesan, potentially starring Bhagyashri Borse. Actor Sivakarthikeyan is set to collaborate with filmmaker Sivakumar Murugesan for the upcoming Tamil film ‘Seyon’. According to recent reports, the ‘Kaantha’ actress Bhagyashri Borse is likely to play the female lead in the film.Pinkvilla report states that the actress may star opposite Sivakarthikeyan in the film. However, an official confirmation from the makers is still awaited.

Creative team from ‘Thaai Kizhavi’ may reunite

There are also reports that some actors from ‘Thaai Kizhavi’ may be part of SK’s ‘Seyon’. However, the makers have not yet officially announced the full cast and crew. Director Sivakumar Murugesan gained recognition for his work on his debut film ‘Thaai Kizhavi’ which is getting good reviews from the audiences.

Title video hints at mythological references

While the makers have kept the plot details under wraps, the title video offered some intriguing hints. The teaser shows Sivakarthikeyan arriving at a police station during the Maasi Kalari festival in a village.In the video, he appears to be treated almost like a divine figure after a chaotic incident. A police officer refers to him as Lord Virumaandi, which is seen as a reference to Kamal Haasan’s ‘Virumaandi’.

Director shares insight into the film’s theme

Director Sivakumar Murugesan recently spoke about the concept of ‘Seyon’. He shared some details while speaking to reporters outside a theatre after the release of Thaai Kizhavi.As quoted by Cinema Express, explaining the theme, the director said the story respects multiple belief systems, “The film revolves around people who worship both deities Virumaandi and Murugan. It is not against anyone; rather, it respects all gods. This is a sincere and well-made film, and you will experience its true essence when you watch it on screen.” The makers have described ‘Seyon’ as a rural entertainer and have also confirmed that the film is scheduled to release in theatres in October this year.On the other hand, Sivakarthikeyan’s previous film was ‘Parasakthi’ which received mixed reviews.
