Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB), Bhopal, has extended the last date to apply for the Forest Guard, Field Guard, Jail Prahari and Assistant Jail Superintendent Recruitment Examination 2026. Candidates who have not yet submitted their application forms can now complete the registration process until April 30, 2026, according to the official notice.Eligible candidates can apply online through the official websites esb.mp.gov.in and esb.mponline.gov.in.The recruitment drive aims to fill 1,679 vacancies in the Forest Department and the Jail Department of the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
MPESB recruitment 2026 : Vacancy details
The vacancies announced under the recruitment drive are distributed across several posts. The post-wise details are given below:
- Forest Guard (Van Rakshak): 728 posts
- Field Guard (Kshetra Rakshak): 169 posts
- Jail Prahari (Warder): 757 posts
- Assistant Jail Superintendent: 25 posts
Eligibility criteria
Candidates applying for the Forest Guard, Field Guard and Jail Prahari posts must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board.For the Assistant Jail Superintendent post, candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognised university.Age limit
- For the Forest Guard, Field Guard and Jail Prahari posts, candidates should be between 18 and 33 years of age.
- For the Assistant Jail Superintendent post, the age limit is 21 to 33 years.
The age of applicants will be calculated as on January 1, 2026. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government rules.
Application fee
Candidates need to pay the required application fee while submitting the online form.
- Rs 500 for candidates belonging to the General, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories
- Rs 250 for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), female, Physically Handicapped (PH) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories
The application fee must be paid through online mode only.
Selection process
The selection process will include a written examination followed by a skill test. Candidates who qualify in these stages will be called for document verification and a medical examination before the final appointment.
Important dates
The official notification for the recruitment drive was released on February 27, 2026, and the online application process started on February 28, 2026.Candidates can now submit their applications until April 30, 2026.
