Aldi has recalled two popular holiday treats due to undeclared allergens, posing a risk of serious allergic reactions. The Choceur Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark may contain undeclared wheat, while the Choceur Cookie Butter Holiday Bark might have undeclared pecans. Consumers are advised to discard or return these products for a refund.

Two popular holiday treats sold at the store have been recalled due to a serious allergen mix-up. Eating these treats could trigger a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction in some. What are the recalled products?

On Wednesday, Nov. 26, Silvestri Sweets Inc. of Geneva, IL, voluntarily recalled its 5-ounce bags of holiday barks as they may contain undeclared allergens.

What to do if someone gets an allergic reaction?

The recalled products are:Choceur Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday BarkChoceur Cookie Butter Holiday BarkThe pecan bark may contain undeclared wheat. “People who have allergies to wheat run the risk ofserious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in a release.The cookie butter bark, on the other hand, may contain undeclared pecans. Those who have allergies to pecans run the risk of “serious or life-threatening allergic reaction” if they consume this product.The recalled items were distributed nationwide through Aldi grocery stores.
