NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Election Commission to consider deferring the exercise of filling and submission of enumeration forms amid the ongoing special Intensive revision of electoral rolls in Kerala. This comes after the top court issued order on certain pleas filed by political parties in Kerala that have challenged the SIR process alleging that it is causing an impediment to ongoing local body elections in the state.A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant also asked the petitioners to hand over their grievances by Wednesday, following which the poll panel may take a decision and submit it before the court. The apex court also noted that it will consider the issue both “objectively and sympathetically” if it turns out that intervention is needed.
