The veteran batter of CSK, MS Dhoni, is set to play his 19th IPL season. Even at the age of 44, he remains active in the tournament. In a recent intra-squad match at Chepauk, Dhoni was seen effortlessly smashing a six off Mukesh Chaudhary with just a slight movement of his hands.The video is quickly gaining attention in the internet with fans getting excited to watch Dhoni play again in IPL. However, people are trolling Mukesh Chaudhary that he is kind of bowler that anyone in the team can go for a six. Apart from that, video shows that even Dhoni is at the end of his careers, he still has a role to play in the team as a finisher, which he has done for years of Chennai Super Kings. He has scored 5,439 runs in 278 matches across his IPL career (2008-2025). He is currently the sixth-highest run-scorer in the tournament’s history and holds the record for the most runs scored specifically in the death overs (2,936 runs).

In the most recent 2025 season, Dhoni transitioned into a brief cameo role, often batting lower in the order. He briefly took back the captaincy mid-season after Ruturaj Gaikwad suffered an injury. Dhoni left the captaincy duties after winning the 5th title for CSK in IPL 2023, and since than for last two seasons he is playing as a veteran experienced batter and often mentoring the youngsters of team who will keep the legacy of CSK, after Dhoni walks off. MS Dhoni remains central to CSK’s identity. While his role continues to evolve, he is expected to feature as an Impact Player, finisher, and mentor. CSK management has confirmed his availability for the entire season, with his exact role to be decided by the coaching staff led by Stephen Fleming.
