Some Formula E drivers have definitely upped their social media game this season, and among them is Cupra Kiro rookie Pepe Marti. The 20-year-old Spanish driver has started a weekly explainer series on Instagram titled Professor Pepe, and this Tuesday he took it upon himself to explain the Pit Boost concept to fans of the electric racing series. The Pit Boost feature was last seen in action at the Madrid E-Prix, though it is reserved only for double-header weekends.

Pepe Marti educates his fans about Pit Boost in Formula E

Sharing Tuesday’s episode of the Professor Pepe series on Instagram, Pepe Marti wrote in the caption: “Profesor Pepe. Ep.6: El Pit Boost. New episode every Tuesday.”Showing the Pit Boost area on the track, Marti says in the video: “What is Pit Boost? Well, I’m Professor Pepe and I’m going to explain it to you. Pit Boost is basically when we stop, just like in any other category, to make a stop, and our stop consists of recovering a bit of energy. And how do we do it? Well, we enter here, in this box, and the car has to be within a white line to another white line, and the same with the sides.”He further explained: “It stops, the mechanic has a cable that plugs it directly into the back to charge the battery. We charge it for about 35-40 seconds, and we go out on track again. So, it’s the same as a pit stop, but only with electric charge.”Reacting to it, a fan wrote: “Thank you, Pepe, now we can introduce this to F1.” Many also showered Martí with messages. One fan commented: “Silence, everyone, my favourite class is starting!” Another called him “Dr Martí” in the comments.
