Pete Buttigieg announces Town Hall in Tulsa on April 18 | News

Date:

TULSA, Okla. — Former Transportation Secretary and Democratic Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg announced he will be hosting a town hall event in Tulsa on Saturday, April 18th.

Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols invited Buttigieg to Tulsa after meeting at the U.S. Conference of Mayors in February.

Buttigieg previously visited Tulsa to tour its historic Greenwood District and learn about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre when he was Transportation Secretary during the Biden administration.

The Tulsa event is meant to serve as a rally for the November midterm election and is set to address what is at stake in the coming months.

Mayor Nichols will introduce Buttigieg to the crowd before Buttigieg will discuss a range of topics, including the Iran war and the increased costs of housing and health care. He’s also set to take some questions from the audience.

The event will be similar to Buttigieg’s other town halls hosted in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and La Crosse, Wisconsin.

The event is scheduled for April 18 at 5:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public, but people must RSVP to be notified of the exact location of the event since it’s still being determined.
