A former WWE star responds to getting name dropped during WrestleMania 42.
Events such as the Showcase of the Immortals are stressful for everyone involved, and considering its magnitude and nature of live events there are plenty of things that can go wrong during the broadcast.
Michael Cole recently spoke about the biggest regret of his career being the goof up he had during the main event of WrestleMania 37 and something similar happened tonight with Wade Barrett on commentary.
Wade Barrett Name Drops Former WWE Star On Commentary During WrestleMania 42
This mistake happened during one of the most heated matches on the card that being between the bout between Stephanie Vaquer and Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship.
During the match, the former Nexus leader commented on Morgan’s lack of offence, however it was a different Morgan altogether as he mentioned former World Wrestling Entertainment star Matt Morgan. Barrett said: “Well, Matt Morgan has barely got anything in.”
This led to Matt Morgan to share a clip of the same on his X/Twitter and thank his former colleague for the mention adding that it led to cheers from his family who were watching the event. He wrote:

Morgan had a run in the Stamford-based promotion from 2003-2005, originally he was planned to wrestle under a mask and be the storyline brother of Kane called “Abel,” however this was scrapped. He made his debut teaming up with Brock Lesnar, Big Show, Nathan Jones and A Train in a 5-on-5 elimination match against Team Angle at Survivor Series 2003.
After departing from the Stamford-based promotion he joined TNA where he had multiple runs.
