Chaitra Navratri 2026: Significance

Navratri festival is the most prominent Hindu festival which is dedicated to worship Goddess Durga. Navratri days are pure and sacred when people offer their sincere prayers to the nine different manifestation of Maa Durga, the divine feminine energy. This festival will begin from Pratipad tithi of shukla paksha in the month of Chaitra and culminate with Ram Navami festival, the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. On this first day of Navratri, people do ghatasthapana during auspicious muhurat and place a kalash for nine long days. Devotees perform various religious and spiritual activities during these sacred days and seek blessings of Goddess Durga.
