It’s not just Claude.ai
Anthropic posted an update on Claude’s status, stating, “This issue additionally affects login on other surfaces, such as Claude.code.”
That means it might not be just the basic AI service that’s having problems — if you’re trying to write an app, it might not work either.
Another up and down Claude outage
As seems to be the pattern with Claude, this outage is going up and down in spikes. Perhaps it’s because the outage is only impacting some users, so it’s not that consistent Downdetector spike we see for most outages.
Anthropic acknowledged the outage
The Claude status page has received an update regarding the downtime, with Anthropic saying, “We have identified an issue resulting in elevated errors on Claude.ai, including desktop and mobile. Users may experience errors when attempting to login, engaging with voice mode, or completing chats with Claude. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible.”
The reports roll in
Downdetector reports for Claude sharply rose from the baseline to around 2,700 quickly. Generally, that many reports coming in a short time is a sign that something is wrong with a service, in this case, with Claude.
