Tiger Woods is once again in the news, and this time it is not for golf. The 15-time major winner was arrested on Friday afternoon in Jupiter Island, Florida, after a serious road incident. Police say Woods was trying to overtake a truck and trailer at high speed on a residential road when he hit the back of the vehicle. His SUV flipped onto its side. He climbed out through the passenger window, but things quickly got worse from there. Officers said Woods refused to give a urine sample, which led to his arrest. He was booked around 3pm and later released at about 11pm the same day. He faces charges including DUI, property damage, and refusal to take a lawful test. While a breath test did not show alcohol, police still said he showed signs of being impaired. This is not the first time Woods has been involved in such incidents. Back in 2017, he was arrested for DUI in Florida after being found asleep in his car with drugs in his system. In 2021, he suffered a major crash in California that badly injured his leg and required multiple surgeries. There was also the 2009 crash outside his Florida home that brought heavy public attention to his personal life.

Dave Portnoy calls out Tiger Woods’ repeated incidents and demands stricter action after latest DUI arrest

Dave Portnoy did not hold back while reacting to the news on his Wake Up Barstool show. He questioned Woods’ choices and made his stance very clear.“What is wrong with Tiger Woods?” Portnoy said. “You can have somebody drive you. He should have a driver with him wherever he goes, there is no excuse.”He continued, “When you get behind the wheel impaired, you’re not just putting yourself at risk. You’re putting anybody else on the road and innocent people at risk.”Portnoy went even further and said, “You can’t make light of it and I have no sympathy for the guy… Put him behind bars, put him in jail for a little bit and make him wake up.”He also added, “Just get a driver. It’s not hard. Seriously, you cannot have sympathy for the guy right now. Get a driver, you’re going to kill somebody innocent.”Meanwhile, PEOPLE reported that Woods does not want to hire a private driver because he does not want someone watching him or knowing his movements. A source told the outlet that Woods believes “he is fine to drive” and prefers to stay at home with his kids, practice golf, or play video games.Officials confirmed that Woods had to spend a minimum time in custody before release. Sheriff John Budensiek said, “It doesn’t matter who you are, if you break the law we’re gonna follow the law.”The latest arrest has once again raised serious concerns around Woods’ safety and decision-making, especially given his past record on the road.
