Ground stop at BWI-Marshall, other nearby airports lifted

The Potomac TRACON is an FAA air traffic control facility in Virginia that manages airspace across the region.A spokesman for Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport said there could be some flight delays as the airport gets back to speed.BWI-Marshall was issued a ground stop, along with Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, Charlottesville Albemarle Airport and Richmond International Airport.Each airport’s ground stop was issued within a 10-minute period around 6:30 p.m. Friday. BWI-Marshall’s ground stop came as security lines had been piling up throughout the day amid the partial government shutdown. This is a developing report.
