Hundreds of flights delayed, dozens canceled at DIA

Date:

Hundreds of flights were delayed and dozens were canceled at Denver International Airport on Wednesday after more than 5 inches of snow stacked up overnight.

As of 3:10 p.m., 399 flights headed in and out of DIA had failed to leave the gate on time, and 35 had been canceled entirely, according to flight tracking software FlightAware.

Planes leaving the airport at that time were stopping briefly for deicing, but no ground stops or ground delays were derailing trips, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Roughly 5.8 inches of snow was measured at the airport at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
