ICAI CA Inter exam 2026: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued an important announcement regarding the rescheduling of the Chartered Accountants Intermediate Examination, Group II, Paper 5 (Auditing and Ethics).As per the official notice, the examination that was earlier scheduled to be held on January 15, 2026 (Thursday) has now been re-scheduled to January 19, 2026 (Monday). The change has been made due to the general elections of Municipal Corporations in the State of Maharashtra on January 15, 2026.Candidates can read the official notice here.

Admit card details
ICAI has clarified that the admit cards already issued will remain valid for the re-scheduled examination date. Candidates do not need to download a new admit card for the January 19 exam.
Other exam dates remain unchanged
The Institute has clearly stated that there is no change in the schedule of any other papers of the Chartered Accountants examinations announced earlier. All other examinations under the January 2026 session will be conducted as per the existing timetable.
CA Intermediate January 2026 schedule
As per the earlier schedule released by ICAI:
- CA Intermediate Group I exams: January 6, 8 and 10, 2026
- CA Intermediate Group II exams: January 12, 15 and 17, 2026
Only Paper 5 of Group II, which was earlier planned for January 15, has been shifted to January 19, 2026. No other paper has been affected.
