India Under-19 29/0 in 2.5 Overs

Date:

India vs South Africa U19 3rd ODI Live Score: India U19 captain Vaibhav Suryavanshi lit up Benoni with a blistering 68 off just 24 balls as the visitors chased down a revised target of 174 in only 23.3 overs to win the second match by eight wickets via the DLS method on Monday, with 21 balls to spare. The victory also helped India seal the three-match series 2-0, with one game remaining.

After choosing to bat, South Africa U19 were bowled out for 245 in 49.3 overs. Rain later intervened, leaving India with a revised target of 174 from 27 overs.

India’s chase got off to a flying start, with openers Aaron George and Suryavanshi taking the attack to the hosts from the outset. The duo raced to 50 inside 4.1 overs, with Suryavanshi bringing up his half-century off just 19 balls.

George was the first to depart, scoring 20 from 19 deliveries, as India reached 67 for 1 in 6.1 overs. Suryavanshi, however, continued his assault, hammering 10 sixes and a four in a breathtaking display before being dismissed by Michael Kruiskamp in the 8.1 over. By then, India were cruising at 103 for 2 after 10 overs.

With the platform firmly set, Vedant Trivedi and Abhigyan Kundu ensured there were no further setbacks. The pair guided India home with composure, with Trivedi finishing unbeaten on 31 and Kundu remaining not out on 48.

For South Africa U19, Kruiskamp was the standout bowler, claiming both Indian wickets and returning figures of 2 for 23 from his six overs.

Earlier, South Africa’s innings lacked sustained momentum despite a fine century from Jason Rowles. The batter struck 114 off 113 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, and added 97 runs for the second wicket with Daniel Bosman, who made 31. However, the rest of the lineup failed to build on that foundation.

India’s bowling effort was led by Kishan Singh, who picked up 4 for 46 in 8.3 overs. RS Ambrish supported well with 2 for 47, while Kanishk Chouhan and Khilan Patel chipped in with a wicket apiece.
