Indian-origin man wins $500K lottery in Canada, says he can now finally travel to India and meet relatives

An Indian-origin man in Canada won a $500,000 lottery after he matched all four numbers on a ticket. The British Columbia lottery company said the odds of matching the four numbers are approximately one in 3.7 million but Surrey resident Sandeep Sidhu did it. CTV News reported that Sidhu was at a gas station when he got to know about his jackpot. He went straight home and told his wife. His wife did not believe it. Sidhu scanned the ticket that he purchased at the Chevron on 175 Street and 56 Avenue in front of his wife to show her that he is actually the winner. What will Sidhu do with so much of the surprise money? Sidhu told local media that now he would be able to fly to India to visit his families, whom he had not seen for a long time. “It was unexpected and a surprise,” Sidhu told the lottery corporation.
