JAP-1 cook killed in road accident in Palamu | Ranchi News

Daltonganj: A police cook at the Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP-1) died in a road accident in Palamu on Friday evening. The deceased Sonu Kumar was on the way to his native Diwan Bigha village on his motorcycle when he was hit by a vehicle from the rear.D K Gope, sub inspector at Haidernagar police station, said, “Kumar was on leave and was returning from Aurangabad in Bihar. He was a few kilometres away from the home when his bike was hit by an unidentified vehicle. He was killed on the spot.”Gope said Kumar’s post-mortem was conducted at the Hussainabad subdivisional hospital. The absence of CCTV cameras on the site of accident is posing difficulties for the police to identify the vehicle that hit Kumar. “Dense fog and poor visibility must have caused the accident. Police have registered the case under the hit-and-run category,” a police official said.
