Canacona: Residents of Mastimol, Canacona, and their ward councillor Pandurang (Dhiraj) Naik Gaonkar marched to the office of PWD (water supply) assistant engineer Pradip Pagi on Thursday, demanding a solution for the months-long water crisis.Pagi said that the pumped water cannot reach full flow due to the higher elevation of the area. He assured residents that those connected to the old pipeline will be gradually shifted to the new one.Residents said their earlier reliable water supply worsened over the past few months and eventually stopped.A female resident asked why this problem is not being addressed as a priority. “Only when someone suffers because of an erratic water supply will one understand the real difficulty,” she told Pagi.Gaonkar said people have been suffering due to erratic water supply, and he has repeatedly approached PWD officials but received no clear response. He said he has given them 8 days to resolve the issue, or he will lead a morcha to the PWD office.
