The Jacksonville Jaguars are attempting to make an addition at the wide receiver position.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Jaguars are signing Seahawks restricted free agent Jake Bobo to an offer sheet. The Seahawks now have five days to match the offer.

With three years of accrued NFL experience, Bobo is a restricted free agent. As he has done with the Jaguars, Bobo is able to negotiate with other teams.
However, since Seattle placed the right of first refusal tender on Bobo, they have the ability to match any offer he receives. If Seattle chooses not to match Jacksonville’s offer, Bobo then becomes a member of the Jaguars.
Since Seattle used the right of first refusal tender, they would not get any draft compensation in return from the Jaguars for letting Bobo walk.
Why do the Jaguars want to sign Jake Bobo?
The Jaguars are positioned well at the receiver position with Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, Parker Washington, and Travis Hunter at the top of the depth chart.

However, bolstering the depth of this unit on the back end is still needed. The other wideouts currently on the roster are Austin Trammell, Tim Jones, and Chandler Brayboy.
Bobo also fits what the Jaguars look for in a wideout. As Yates notes, he’s a very good blocker from the receiver position and has been a core special teams contributor. He also has experience lining up inside and out on offense.
Jake Bobo’s NFL career
Bobo went undrafted in 2023 out of UCLA and has spent his first three NFL seasons with the Seahawks, which includes winning the Super Bowl this past year.
He’s played 636 special teams snaps in his career, contributing to four of the six different phases regularly, per PFF. On offense, Bobo has caught 36-of-46 targets over three seasons, averaging 9.9 yards per catch with four touchdowns.
