Prabhas’ film The Raja Saab released in theatres today and opened to an impressive first-day response. The fantasy horror-comedy drew solid crowds, though audiences remain divided over its blend of scares, spectacle and humour. Despite the mixed word of mouth, the film has managed to stay firmly in the spotlight. Adding fresh fuel to the buzz, the makers have now confirmed that the story does not end here. A sequel has already been locked.
Makers confirm sequel and future plans
Soon after the first-day shows, fans noticed clear hints pointing towards a sequel. The makers later confirmed that The Raja Saab Circus 1935 is indeed the next chapter. Director Maruthi Dasari has already spoken about the approach for the second film and clarified that it will not simply continue the same narrative. As quoted earlier, according to an OTTPlay report, he said, “We are setting up a lead for The Raja Saab Part 2, but it won’t be a continuation of the same story. It will have a completely new storyline and a fresh setup. The film will remain in the horror genre, but we are planning to take it to the next level, and the script will be something no one has touched in the horror genre. But it is too early to talk now.”
Prabhas’ return and a new avatar
Prabhas will return to the franchise as Raju, but according to News18 reports, his character will look very different this time. The sequel is expected to present him in a more unsettling and eccentric form, hinting at a darker psychological layer. This transformation could push the series away from light-hearted fantasy into more intense horror territory. For now, the makers have not confirmed whether other familiar faces will reprise their roles.
