UPSC CAPF AC Recruitment 2026 registration ends on March 12.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will close the online registration window for the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Assistant Commandant Examination 2026 tomorrow, March 12, 2026, at 6 PM. Candidates interested in joining India’s paramilitary forces as officers must complete their applications on the official UPSC website before the deadline.Through this recruitment drive, UPSC aims to fill 349 Assistant Commandant posts across major Central Armed Police Forces, including the Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo‑Tibetan Border Police, and Sashastra Seema Bal. The UPSC CAPF written examination is scheduled to be conducted on July 19, 2026, and will serve as the first stage of the selection process for officer-level posts in the paramilitary forces.

UPSC CAPF 2026: Vacancy details

According to the official notification, the 349 vacancies are distributed among five forces as follows:

  • BSF: 108 posts
  • CRPF: 106 posts
  • CISF: 70 posts
  • SSB: 53 posts
  • ITBP: 12 posts

Eligibility criteria

Candidates applying for the CAPF Assistant Commandant examination must meet the following eligibility requirements:Educational qualification: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Candidates in the final year of graduation may also apply, provided they submit proof of qualification at a later stage of the recruitment process.Age limit: Candidates must be between 20 and 25 years of age as on August 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms.Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of India, though certain categories of candidates from Nepal and Bhutan may also be eligible according to government rules.
