The Jacksonville Jaguars and defensive end Travon Walker have agreed to a “massive” contract extension, according to Ian Rapoport.
According to Walker’s agency, it is a four-year deal worth $110 million and includes $77 million in total guarantees. Walker will also receive $50 million fully guaranteed at signing.
Rapoport adds that the Jaguars and Walker have been in talks for weeks, and those conversations reached a point Wednesday where both sides felt comfortable about the terms of the extension. It was then finalized on Friday.
Jaguars sign Travon Walker to contract extension
Walker appeared in just 14 games last season, making only 12 starts due to injuries, so naturally, he wasn’t as productive, logging 44 pressures with 3.5 sacks.
But in the two years prior, Walker tallied 56 pressures in 2024 and 59 pressures in 2023. He reached double-digit sacks each year as well. In both seasons, he was top 25 among all edge rushers in total pressures, per PFF.
Not to be overlooked, either, is the well-rounded skill set Walker brings to the defensive end position with his contributions in the run game.
It was reported earlier in the week that “preliminary” talks with Walker about an extension had taken place — a sign of what was to come.
During Gladstone’s end-of-season press conference in January, he mentioned that one of the things he appreciates about Travon Walker is how much he cares about his teammates and being a part of the Jaguars’ organization.
At that time, Gladstone also hinted strongly at the Jaguars wanting to keep Walker around for the long-term, saying, “He’s someone we want to align ourselves with moving forward.”
