Elon Musk-owned X (formerly Twitter) is currently experiencing a widespread technical outage affecting thousands of users globally, including the US and India. According to the website performance tracker Downdetector.com, reports of the downtime began around 4.36 pm IST on Tuesday (November 18), with the number of affected users quickly climbing.Downdetector recorded over 11,550 incidents of reported issues globally, including approximately 1,500 reports from users in India.At the time of reporting, members of The Times of India tech team were able to access the X platform on their mobile devices. A similar scenario was observed with the web application; however, videos failed to load across the web interface.The outage appears to be impacting both primary access methods:Mobile app: 61% of reporting global users are having trouble accessing X via the mobile application.Web access: 31% of reporting users are facing problems with the platform’s website.A smaller percentage (26%) reported server connection issues.The company has not yet released an official statement on the cause of the downtime.
